The staff and members of Manitoba USKE would like to express their gratitude to everyone who attended the 12th National Lands Managers Gathering in Treaty One Territory! This week has been full of educational speakers and break-out sessions covering topics like By-laws, Additions to Reserves (ATR), Land Appraisals, Natural Resource Management, Revitalizing the Cree and Ojibway languages, Building Relationships with Industry, Reserve Land Governance, and Trust Accounts (ISC).
Our regional office had the chance to organize the RLA challenge, and Cassandra Larocque (ATR Analysis) put together an outstanding All Nations Race. Congratulations to the FNLMAQL region for winning this year’s RLA challenge!
We would also like to congratulate the following graduates from the Professional Lands Management Certificate Program (PLCMP) in Manitoba: Harley Myran (Long Plain First Nation), Shaun Peters (Long Plain First Nation), Ralph Roulette (Long Plain First Nation), Benjamin Young (Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation), Edith Spence (Opaskwayak Cree Nation), Shayne Lynxleg (Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation), Marie Gregory (Rolling River First Nation), and Lori Lathlin (Opaskwayak Cree Nation)! We were able to personally congratulate each graduate from 2019 through 2023.
