2nd Annual Youth Gathering – January 23-24, 2023

The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), an international document that outlines the rights of Indigenous peoples worldwide, was the main topic of discussion during the youth gathering. The basic human rights of Indigenous people, including the rights to self-determination, language, culture, and territory, are recognized in 46 articles. While the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) does not carry the weight of law, it does establish minimum standards to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the world’s Indigenous peoples.
